Our church has several retreats throughout the year. a women's retreat, a men's retreat, youth retreat, staff retreat, an elder retreat. It has become a big part of my local congregation's culture. It's a time to break away form the bustle of life and focus on the LORD God.

I prefer the fun retreats where it isn't so churchy in terms of form and structure. As one who needs lots of free time to imagine, lots of structure runs opposite the way my brain works. Nontheless, a time to get away from making videos, music of fishing tackle is a healthy discipline.
