In the western world, music is defined by it's scale and temperament, an octave divided into 12 "equal" steps. This is not the only scale or temperament. Just as different languages consist of different alphabets or even glyphs, world music, both past and present, operate the same way. Just as English is but one language, the Western equal-tempered scale is but one musical alphabet.

The universe is filled with frequencies. Why not explore them?

An octave, a single frequency doubled, can be divided into as many or as few steps as you want. What's more is you are not limited to an octave. A 12th or a 10th or some other interval can be divided into as many or as few steps as you want.

With the Ornament and Crime (o_C) module recently ported to the AE modular synthesizer, exploring foreign (xeno) scales and temperaments ("harmonics") is possible, thus "Xenharmonique."

This will be a work in progress. I will release tunes as I compose and record them.
