Pentaman (5edo/10edo)

from Xenharmonique by Black Warrior Lures

about

A superhero decides to re-enter the good fight after a long hiatus.

PATCH NOTES:
- This tune uses two scales: five equal division of the octave (edo) in the lower three voices, and 10 edo in the solo voice. This is a true pentatonic scale(s).

- In contrast Western music uses 12 equal notes, equally dividing an octave. The Western pentatonic scale, both minor and major, is but a subset of a larger 12 note scale.

- Here we have a true pentatonic scale, an octave divided into five equal steps. One could say the 5 edo is but a subset of 10 edo, a subset of 15, 20 and so on. However, I am unsure of the mathematics this entails. Such is beyond my understanding. However, my ears do not fail. Listen to the music and you hear a true pentatonic scale that simply cannot be played on the piano.
